In local football news, official sponsorship of the Happy Christmas Professor Ovington 1970 Cup Plate Shield competition began today with the delivery of official Tooheys t-shirts. Both teams with take to the field in their new uniforms for the first time this Saturday morning.

In a follow-up on the effect of two beers in quick succession on this correspondent, it was determined today that it is more than likely that my state last night was caused by nothing more than dehydration and an empty stomach; 'twas a bit scary though.
