jplayer

Here's a new way to get people listening to radio again. The ABC is now selling jplayers; Triple J-branded 1 and 2Gb MP3 players preloaded with a bunch of podcasts. The FM tuner comes preset with Triple J frequencies across the country. It also records audio.

The ABC Shop site doesn't have much in the way of tech specs unfortunately; depending on the recording settings I might pick one of these up to record Fuzzy Logic for podcasting*. Comes in red too, if you want your audio to play faster.

At $149 for 1Gb and $199 for 2Gb, will the jplayer be a schoolyard winner or has it come to the game too late?

I want the ABC to put out one of those with an AM player. Now that would be cutting edge. Either that or CONVERT all their AM stations to FM. !@#^^!!
