Interstate and overseas readers may or may not have seen the story of the young guy who self-immolated in the Canberra Centre late last week. On Friday afternoon the man doused himself in something flammable & ignited himself before running into the top floor of the David Jones store in the Centre. He's still in critical condition in a Sydney burns unit. There wasn't much local media coverage of the incident, but what little there was mentioned that the man wasn't carrying any political or religious placards. If it was an unbalanced cry for help, I hope he gets all that he needs. To risk stating the obvious, things must be pretty horrible in his life if he's resorting to that course of action.
