Graffiti: Street Art or Vandalism?
Tonight's Australia Talks Back discussion on graffiti was very interesting. There was - unsurprisingly - a bias against graffiti & stenciling in the callers, but the experts they'd lined up provided a good dose of balance to the myopic phone-ins.
Elsewhere, Capt Randy Roger reports that Time has a photoessay - Art of the Street - available online. It's a great collection of photos. Cheers for the pointer mate!
A&B, currently on assignment in Europe, report that they've snapped a whole bunch of street art for me too, which I'm quite excited to see. Not long after they get back I'm hitting Melbourne; I'm looking forward to seeing how much of the street art down there has survived the Commonwealth Games sanitisation.

Oh I saw that show... I thought the kids so CLEVER... their work was ... interesting.... i would much rather see that than a telstra add or similar? And how articulate they were in planning how too? I admire that.. maybe I am just missing the plot of too many things...
I think those youths should learn a trade and stop expressing themselves. If we all went around expressing ourselves everywhere then the whole world would be covered in expression. I think expression is something that should be done by married people in the privacy of their owns homes.
