From the Tragic to the Trivial

Since Pizza Haven went into administration a few months ago, Green Square revellers have been limited to getting their late night crap food fix from the hot dog guy who operates outside The Durham on Friday and Saturday nights. Now the hot dog guy has some competition in the form of Mike's Munchies van that parks outside the Ampol service station across from Green Square. While Filthy's and the Holy Grail are reportedly OK with the van operating there over the weekend, having a chat with 'Mike' reveals that The Durham isn't quite as happy. What will happen? Will Mike emerge victorious with his superior menu, or will The Durham's hot dog guy prove that location is the deciding factor? Does anyone care? Nah, didn't think so.

Update 28 Jul 03
Having attentive readers is a good backup for a hasty editorial process. At the end of this piece I wrote "Does anyone care? Nah, didn't think so." Thinking about it now, I'm sure the owners of The Durham and Mike's Muchies van would both care quite a bit. It's not like food service to drunkards is their hobby.
