Flying with Storms
Flying level with a towering storm gives you a unique perspective. Spiring up, a supercell storm is a mighty and beautiful thing to behold. On the ground, it's a completely different matter. A few hours after I landed in Brisbane yesterday, one of the storms we could see from the plane hit. Surprisingly, despite a ground-strike very close to the folks place (hair stood on end and the thunderclap hit simultaneously with the flash of the lightning), we didn't lose power like many others.
