Canberra.Craigslist: Would You Use It?
I was thinking about all of the sites that can help out newcomers to Canberra - AllHomes for rental places, BMA for gigs, RiotACT for news & discussions, work bulletin boards for classifieds - and got wondering whether it'd all be better if were all in one place. Then I got thinking about sites that do have all of those things and Craigslist stood out. Sydney, Melbourne, Brissy, Perth & Adelaide all have localised versions, why not Canberra? So I asked:
Hi, I was wondering what your criteria was for a craigslist for a new location? I live in Canberra, the capital of Australia, which I imagine has the same sort of needs as most other cities. Our capital has a small population, but has a transient population with government staff, politicians, students and all sorts of support people (especially IT) coming & going, so there's always a need for listings of rental properties, share housing, stuff for sale, personals and the like. So what conditions have to be met for a new canberra.craigslist?
and got a reply in a couple of hours:
Hopefuly soon!
Thanks,
craigslist customer service
Not exactly what I was expecting, but interesting nonetheless. If there was a canberra.craigslist site, would you use it?
