Melbourne Cup

Bet $5 on the office sweeps, scored second place on the $1 sweep, won $6. I think this year's $1 profit is the best I've done in about five years.

How'd everyone else do?

This year I decided to stop pretending I was even slightly interested in horse racing and not join a sweep, place a bet, or go watch the race.

At the last minute I decided not to be a wowser (or not to stand up for my beliefs, one or the other) and went in the sweep. As usual, I lost $2.
