Olympic Handball
[Sport] I discovered olympic handball on SBS late one night this week. Nothing like the game we called handball that we used to play at school with a tennis ball, this handball is more like a cross between soccer, basketball and netball. The men's quarter-final game I saw pitted Korea against Hungary. There were thrills and spills and commentary that made me do a double-take & went a little something like this:
[Korean player jumps to shoot at goal, Hungarian player gets underneath him, Korean lands hard & hurts his ankle, 3 replays ensue]
Commentator 1:
Oooh yes he landed hard there. There he goes, getting off the court. It only looks like a twisted ankle though; rest, ice, compression & elevation is what he needs. RICE'll sort him out.
C 2:
Yep, and if there's anything Koreans know about, it's rice.
C1:
...
[Koreans get possession and shoot]
C2:
And scoring! That's another thing Koreans know a lot about.

I'm a bit of a fan of Olympic handball myself - went and saw it live at the Sydney Olympics and bought the limited-edition T shirt that you could only get if you went to the actual event.
Interestingly, the front of the shirt details the rules of the game!
