In line with what's become a bit of a tradition on my trips home, I took Dad to the movies today. The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen bands together some heroes and anti-heroes from the literature of yesteryear to thwart the evil plans of "M". Choosing the interesting concept over mates' reviews was our undoing. We only get glimpses of what makes each of the crew extraordinary and I think the 'dynamic' (read 'shaky as all hell') cinematography was probably intended to mask the average sfx and fight choreography. LXG also falls into the trap of so many recent action/adventures by giving the audience a pretty lame bad guy who you barely see. You can't have good Good Guys unless you've got a really bad Bad Guy. In short - wait for rental / tv.
